{"id":1879,"date":"2013-05-14T17:31:49","date_gmt":"2013-05-14T21:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mapsurfer.com\/blog\/?p=1879"},"modified":"2013-05-14T17:31:49","modified_gmt":"2013-05-14T21:31:49","slug":"barber-dime-silver-thimble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.puzzlemaze.org\/df\/blog\/archives\/1879","title":{"rendered":"Barber Dime + Silver Thimble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I guess the title says it all; no need to read the lame copy.\u00a0 Scroll down for the pic.<\/p>\n<p>Back to yesterday&#8217;s site, gridding out what remains of the one zone that gave up 6 old coins yesterday, and pulled another &#8217;16 wheatie and a silver thimble.\u00a0 The thimble is not stamped, which means its older than 1905, but not really old, as evidenced by the floral pattens (really old ones are just silver and boring looking, as if silver could ever look boring).\u00a0 This is the third intact silver thimble I&#8217;ve found, and while I&#8217;m not a big relic guy, they are fun to find.<\/p>\n<p>After that zone was complete, into a dead zone that hadn&#8217;t yet produced a single coin, and not even a decent tell, so I was quite pleased to pull a 1903 barber dime (of course, I&#8217;m trained to think like a park hunter, looking for tells, and I realise these old homesites don&#8217;t work like that, but that&#8217;s an entry for another day).\u00a0 This one had a high FE number; mostly 20+, and it wasn&#8217;t that deep, but had that tight pinpoint, and the occasional low bounce.\u00a0 That&#8217;s what you look for at iron infested sites.<\/p>\n<p>Too bad it wasn&#8217;t a seated.\u00a0 Saw the back (which looks more or less the same as a seated), and got excited for a minute.\u00a0 Continue to dance around the seated at this place.\u00a0 Everything but the girl.\u00a0 Oh well.\u00a0 There&#8217;s not really enough promising real estate left to get one at this point, but I gave it a good go.\u00a0 One more day, maybe, before tabling or closing the site.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.puzzlemaze.org\/df\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/051413.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1880\" title=\"051413\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puzzlemaze.org\/df\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/051413.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"556\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.puzzlemaze.org\/df\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/051413.jpg 556w, https:\/\/www.puzzlemaze.org\/df\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/051413-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.puzzlemaze.org\/df\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/051413-500x260.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I guess the title says it all; no need to read the lame copy.\u00a0 Scroll down for the pic.
